“Our Church is in mourning and dismayed by the events that have occurred. We ask that a clear and precise investigation be carried out as soon as possible and that it lead to the clarification of the terrible events,” the CEB said in a statement on April 17.
"Faced with the culture of violence that is growing in Bolivia", the murders of women, robberies, insecurity, among other problems, "we urge all the Bolivian people to commit themselves and work to a culture of peace where we can all live in fraternity”, expressed the CEB.
In addition, the CEB assured its "closeness, solidarity and prayers" to the Daza Rodas family for the death of the priest.
“May the light of the Risen Jesus Christ shine in our hearts and in our world where there is so much darkness, suffering and death. God with the resurrection of his Son tells us that evil and death do not have the last word, ”concluded the CEB.
The Archbishop of Santa Cruz, Msgr. Sergio Gualberti, the Bishop Emeritus, Msgr. Braulio Sáez, the auxiliary bishops and the diocesan community, sent their condolences.
